OPERATION INFILTRATION

Set Apart is the name of our youth group.  Operation Infiltration is our mission.  Think of spies, inflitrating our government and gathering information.  That's kinda like what our mission is, except instead of gathering information, we're giving information-- the gospel, that is.  Our mission is the infiltrate our worlds-- our oikos-- with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This mission is based on Christ's command as he ascended into heaven, "Go therefore and make disciples."  Everything we do here is founded on this mission.  On Sunday mornings we focus on equipping for the mission.  Wednesday nights are designed to be a place where kids can bring their friends to hear the gospel.  Set Apart Youth's job is to show our worlds who Christ is by how we live.  The youth pastor's job is to tell them who Christ is and what he did.

OIKOS

What is oikos?  Oikos is the Greek New Testament word that means "extended household."  It usually refers to the 8-15 people God has supernaturally and strategically put in your daily life.  Everyone has an oikos, and they're all different.  These are the people we share life with.  Classroom buddies.  The kids on your sports teams.  The kid you walk home with.  These are people God has put around you so you can give them the gospel!  God is changing the world one oikos at a time.  Set Apart Youth has a mission to infiltrate our oikos's with the gospel of Christ.  For more on Oikos, check out this book by Tom Mercer.
